Terms of Service.
MountainRiver is a contemplative journal with an optional AI layer. These terms explain what it is, what it isn't, and the basis on which you use it. They are written plainly, and your rights as a consumer under EU and Danish law are fully preserved — nothing here takes those away.
Who we are
MountainRiver is operated by TJI Holding ApS (trading as “TJI Labs”), a company registered in Denmark. Registered address: TJI Holding ApS, Fredericiagade 38, 2., 6000 Kolding, Denmark. CVR no.: DK44755505. Contact: hello@mountainriver.app. By creating an account and using MountainRiver, you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy.
What MountainRiver is — and is not
MountainRiver and its underlying AI are provided for informational, personal, and contemplative purposes only. We are not licensed medical professionals, therapists, financial advisors, or legal counsel. The reflections, insights, decisions, and “routes” the app generates do not constitute professional advice, diagnosis, or treatment. They are prompts for your own thinking, not instructions to follow. Always seek the advice of qualified professionals for any medical, mental-health, financial, or legal matter.
If you are in crisis or may be at risk of harm, please contact your local emergency services or a professional helpline. MountainRiver is not an emergency or crisis service and cannot provide that help.
Your decisions are your own
The app generates ideas and suggestions through automated AI processing. You decide what, if anything, to do with them. You assume responsibility for any real-world actions, decisions, or life changes you choose to undertake, and for weighing whether a suggested path is right and safe for you. The value of MountainRiver is in helping you reflect — the choices, and their outcomes, remain yours.
The AI, honestly
The app is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. AI systems can be wrong: output may be inaccurate, incomplete, out of context, or occasionally invented (“hallucinated”). We do not guarantee that AI output will be accurate, safe, appropriate to your situation, or error-free, and to the maximum extent permitted by law we disclaim implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. Please treat what the app says as a starting point for reflection, not as fact or advice to be relied upon.
Subscriptions and payment
- The capture experience is free and remains so. The AI layer is an optional subscription at €7 per month (VAT included where applicable).
- Payment is handled by Stripe. Your subscription renews monthly until you cancel.
- You can cancel at any time; access to the AI layer continues until the end of the paid period, after which it does not renew. Your free capture experience continues regardless.
- Where EU consumer law grants you a right of withdrawal, that right applies. Note that by starting to use the AI features immediately, you may be asked to acknowledge that provision has begun.
Using MountainRiver responsibly
You agree to use MountainRiver only for your own lawful, personal reflection. You must not use it to break the law, to harm others, or to attempt to disrupt, reverse-engineer, or misuse the service or the AI providers behind it. We may suspend or close accounts that are used in these ways.
Age
MountainRiver is intended for adults. You must be 18 or older to use it.
Your content is yours
You keep all rights to what you write. We claim no ownership of your entries. We process them only to provide the service to you, as described in the Privacy Policy. The MountainRiver name, design, and software remain ours.
Limitation of liability
Nothing in these terms limits or excludes any liability that cannot be limited or excluded under applicable law — in particular, we do not exclude or limit our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for any other liability that Danish or EU law does not permit us to limit. Your mandatory rights as a consumer are unaffected by anything below.
Subject to that, and to the fullest extent permitted by law: TJI Holding ApS is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential losses arising from your use of the app or from AI-generated suggestions; and our total aggregate liability to you for any other loss is limited to the greater of the amount you have paid us in the twelve (12) months before the event giving rise to the claim, or €50.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Denmark, and disputes are subject to the Danish courts, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer-protection rights you have under the law of your country of residence in the EU/EEA.
Changes to these terms
If we make material changes to these terms, we will update this page and, where the change is significant, let you know in the app. Continuing to use MountainRiver after a change means you accept the updated terms.
